Here are some pictures from our trip up to Asheville, NC this past weekend.We all stayed at Bryan's dad's house near Mt. Pisgah Academy and on Sabbath drove down to DuPont State Forest where we explored 15.5 miles worth of trails (with the aid of our bikes).After working up a good apetite we all went out to eat at India Garden, in Asheville. Last week Jane11's parents closed on their new house so Mark & Kristin decided to come up for the weekend and help them move. Last Sabbath morning I noticed a U-Haul truck in the "fence neighbors'" driveway just before we left for church. It didn't seem like a very big truck so I didn't think that they could actually be moving... We started the day out today with breakfast in our room followed by a brisk walk in the rain to the Ufizzi Museum. Today we took a non-Catholic pilgrimage to see the Vatican City. The crowds weren't too terribly large, and we only had to wait in the drizzling rain for about 20 minutes... Sunday afternoon we went over to one of our friends' house for the good old fashioned pagan tradition of decorating eggs and then hiding them for others to find (guys vs. gals of course). Sabbath was very relaxed and laid back day. Church was canceled for the SonRise Easter pageant in C'dale, so we enjoyed a quiet morning at home with the cats instead. Today marks the official first day of Spring! Woohoo! Last week we got a new terra cotta fire pit for our back deck and invited Todd over one warm & sunny evening for it's maiden burnage. We enjoyed roasted hot dogs with all the regular hot dog fixin's. However we had to substitute slices of bread for hot dog buns due to the spontaneous nature of the whole event.... :)

On Friday Sir Arthur took a trip to the vet for his little "snip snip" surgery. All went well, but that evening he was still tripping from the drugs. This past weekend we drove down to Alabama accompanied by Todd to hike the Pinhoti Trail with Mark and Kristin along with their friends Wilf, Jane11e, and Maria. On Sabbath we went hiking with Gil & Jen & Todd at the Rock Creek section of the Cumberland Trail. Monday morning our next-door neighbor (who cut down all his big trees) finished things off by cutting down the remaining smaller trees in his front yard... so now the only thing standing upright in his front yard is the plane Jane 20 ft tall flag pole which stands out even more now.
