We Voted!

Today was the last day of early voting for the presidential primaries so after work we went out and voted. The line was short and we were in and out within about 10 minutes. Woohooo!

If you haven't voted already, be sure and do so on February 5. Make your vote count!

After voting we paid way too much for tofu curry on rice at a Vietnamese restaurant that will not be getting our endorsement... The foot wasn't exactly "bad", just not quite good enough for the price, and the service wasn't too hot.

Our New Kitchen!

Before ............................After ...

Over the past 2 weeks we've been working on remodeling our kitchen. Although it's technically not a "major" remodeling project, it has still turned out to be a rather large endeavor for us:

We resurfaced our counters and splash guards with ceramic tile & broken stone, installed a new sink & garbage disposal (with new plumbing), repositioned the electrical wall sockets & switches, filled-in the paneling grooves on the wall, repainted the pantry door & trim, filled-in the rectangular hole in the kitchen wall (previously for an AC wall unit), repainted the walls, installed new lighting, and made and hung a new curtain over the window.

We are also going to tile the floor with matching (but larger) ceramic tiles, replace the hardware on the cabinets, and repaint the ceiling.

U2 Concert In 3D

Last night we went and saw U23D at the IMAX Theater after eating supper at Qdoba along with Todd, Gil & Jen. It was a full 85 minutes of 3D concert excitement (pretty cool if you know anything about U2 and their music).

"U23D is a groundbreaking film that brings the world’s most popular band to theaters in a totally new and engaging way. The first ever live-action 3D concert film, it immerses the audience in an all-enveloping and thrilling cinematic experience. Advanced 3D imagery and cutting-edge surround sound technology are coupled for the first time, to bring a concert to life."

Blizzard of '08!

Last night it snowed! As you can tell from the photos there was about 1 inch of snow accumulated on the lawn, enough to even make a small snowman. . :)

In the last photo you can see two little cat eyes (shining from the camera flash) looking out the front door. . :)

Sorry the blog has been so quiet lately... we've been busy working on our kitchen remodeling project and haven't had time for much else. We should have some photos to show you very soon.

The Curry Pot

Yes, that's right people. There's a brand new Indian restaurant in town, conveniently located at the intersection of Shallowford & Lee Hwy!

Today was the last day of their "grand opening" weekend, and the place was packed with Indians, which we thought was a good sign! In fact we were the only non-Indians in the restaurant the whole time we were there. .:)

The food was very tasty and the service was good. The staff were friendly and polite and the buffet line was clean and well stocked, with lots of options (much more than India Mahal). The prices were pretty good too (better than India Mahal).

Overall, it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience and we highly recommend it! We will definitely go back again, and again...

Plus, they have free wi-fi! :)

Happy New Year!

Enjoy the clean slate!

Late Christmas With The Hullquists

This past Sunday we celebrated Christmas yet again with Er!c's family down in Georgia. (See also Early Christmas With The Pettibones and Christmas 2007). We decorated a gingerbread house with our niece and nephew, opened presents, and visited Er!c's grandparents who live next-door.

...and tried our hardest to earn the "favorite-aunt-and-uncle-of-the-year award" . :)

P.S. On New Years Day we celebrated an even later Christmas with the rest of Jane11's aunts, uncles and cousins. So I guess that now brings it up to 4 Christmases for 2007! :)
