Sitar Indian Cuisine

Today after church we joined some friends and tried out Sitar Indian Cuisine, one of the 3 Indian restaurants that we know of here in Chattanooga. We had tried this place out back when it was Shalimar Indian Restaurant and wasn't very impressed, but I think Sitar Indian Cuisine is under different management and thus much better now!

The lunch buffet had quite a good selection of vegetarian options, however the dishes of Naan and Pakora seemed to always be out. Perhaps it was because it was so delicious and would disappear as soon as they brought out more. .:) . They even had Samosas in the buffet line! Although we didn't order from the menu, they seem to have a large selection of items to suit just about anyone's appetite.

The prices were about the same as India Mahal ($7.95 each for the lunch buffet). I think The Curry Pot is still cheaper than it's competitors, and yet the food is equally as good.
P.S. We recently went back to India Mahal and their selection was much better and the food was even tastier too! Isn't competition great!

Easter in Florida

So, I'm finally getting around to posting pictures of our trip to Florida last weekend. Due to some unfortunate scheduling issues we were unable to leave Chattanooga until around 10:00 Friday evening. 5 1/2 hours later we pulled into Mark & Kristin's driveway and let ourselves into the house where we promptly found our beds & fell asleep.

Sabbath after lunch we walked down to the neighborhood beach (a couple minutes walk from Mark & Kristin's house) and walked down the narrow strip of sand as far as we could go in each direction.

Then we all went over to Navarre Beach (a real beach) to watch the sun set. We splashed around in the water and took way too many pictures. :)

On Sunday, we had an Easter Egg hunt in the front yard after a late breakfast. Here are some photos from Pettibonia & The Todd View. Then we packed up the car and came home again.

Snow Cats

This morning we were hit by a surprise snow shower that covered our porch with a thin layer of white magic dust! ...or at least that's what the cats thought. Tofu & Arthur were absolutely enthralled by the strange falling flakes and slippery surface and did NOT want to go back indoors again!

Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday afternoon we went over to one of our friends' house for the good old fashioned pagan tradition of decorating eggs and then hiding them for others to find (guys vs. gals of course). I'm not really sure what else to say about the whole event except that the weather was chilly, the food delicious, and the girls won the easter egg hunt.

Easter Sabbath

Sabbath was very relaxed and laid back day. Church was canceled for the SonRise Easter pageant in C'dale, so we enjoyed a quiet morning at home with the cats instead. After a late lunch we spent some time out on the deck in the sun with the cats. They seemed to really enjoy being outside the confines of the house, sniffing strange smells and chasing bugs.

Later in the afternoon Todd came over and carpooled with us downtown to Coolidge Park where we met up with Gil & Jen and explored the new addition to the park until it got dark (and cold). We then decided to eat supper at the Mudpie Cafe, followed up by ice cream at Clumpies.

Yep. It Has Finally Sprung.

Today marks the official first day of Spring! Woohoo!

Last week we got a new terra cotta fire pit for our back deck and invited Todd over one warm & sunny evening for it's maiden burnage. We enjoyed roasted hot dogs with all the regular hot dog fixin's. However we had to substitute slices of bread for hot dog buns due to the spontaneous nature of the whole event.... :)

Birthday Num-nums!

Tonight we went downtown to Thai Smile to celebrate Jane11's birthday and had the Yellow Curry & the Rama Tofu with heart shaped mounds of white rice (oh, and Thai spring rolls too). Everything was very delicious, as it always is -- we've never once been disappointed.

If you've never tried Thai Smile it is well worth the visit (equally as tasty as our other favorite Thai restaurant).

On our way home we swung by and took pictures of a mis-spelled detour "sing" that a friend of ours had informed us about...

Sunny Sabbath Day

Today was absolutely gorgeous! It was sunny and warm, so after church & lunch we lazed around in the sun out on the deck with Todd and the kitties.

Then we took the bikes out and explored our area,
riding a total of 6+ miles.
